This one grabbed me because the first time I read it was during a time when I was really getting into computers/technology. The Internet, hacking, identity theft, the idea of "plugging in"/virtual reality, throw the action of the Feds and the fact that the most (if not all) of the tech has stood up to the test of time more than 20 years later, not to mention the side benefit of its not so subtle feminist/lesbian subtext - - What's not to like ;-)

I would say this book is not for young kids...some parents may even caution that it isn't for minors, but I leave that up to parents to determine. I personally would have loved reading this in my teenage years...I may have clued into a few things about myself much sooner in life - - including but not limited to my passion for technology.

Would highly recommend this to anybody interested in the cyberpunk genre or in virtual reality as an emerging technology. Certainly, some of the notions of how technology would evolve (phones, physical media such as hard drives) have already proven to be wrong (but not bad guesses given this was written in 1994), but the concept of the lived-in experience of virtual worlds is important perspective as the technology becomes increasingly available. Plus, the characters are well developed, and queer, non-male perspectives on technology are both very much needed and welcome.
One of my favorite books. I have it in paperback hard cover, and now ebook. Got it in this format because I like to carry it with me and I was wearing out the spine on my hard cover.
One of my favorite cyber-punk SF novels. The tech has stood the test of time as we draw closer to the digital frontier.
I keep reviewing this and you keep asking for another. In any case, be sure to read 'Dreamships'
Great old cyber-punk novel. Two powerful women dealing with gender, sexuality, corporate vs. free thinking/hackers and the cyber-tech war against an enemy on the digital frontier.
Good techno thriller. I enjoyed the detail and characters of the story.
I really enjoyed this! The sense of world and characters was really good, and I enjoyed the old school cyberpunk stuff. It definitely starts slow, though, and took me a while to read because of that. Worth it, though!
One other thing this ebook had kind of a lot of OCR errors. Though they weren't that distracting to me, they were def noticable.
